It is always best to have the person with you to get a real feeling of their personality, if that is not possible you need photos of the head from all angles. Start with a support for the clay, an armature, then work the clay onto it.
The head is left to dry out very slowly over a few weeks to avoid cracking.
Then it will be fired in a kiln up to 1200c , a process that takes up to three days.
If the head has survived that process without cracking , it will be sent to a foundry to be cast into bronze resin. This can take several more weeks.
